10am - 6pm
Where:
DFG, London
This intensive two-day course explores issues Production Managers need to address and endows participants with the knowledge to tackle them successfully.
In-depth practical training will concentrate on planning, scheduling and budgeting for factual programming/ documentaries and the various complex issues they raise.
Aimed at:
Independent Filmmakers looking to manage their own productions
Production Co-ordinators, PAs and APs wishing to upgrade their skills
Producers wishing to develop in-depth knowledge of Production Management
Newcomers wanting to enter the field of production
For some, this is the least interesting aspect of making a documentary. For others it’s the exciting nuts and bolts that bring a production to life. Regardless of how you feel about it, the rules, legal issues, processes, budgets and paperwork are absolutely essential components for your film. Whether you are shooting your film all by yourself in your home on a single chip camera, or using an extensive crew and multiple locations, good production management will help you think about your film – and how feasible it really is – in more detail, and it should also give you answers to a number of important questions.
The course consists of a combination of seminars, discussion, viewing material and practical exercises designed to engage and develop participant's knowledge and skills.
