Learn how to author your own DVDs and get to grips with how to make your own showreel using Apple's DVD Studio Pro. This course covers preparing video, stills and graphics, encoding files, making dynamic looking menus, creating chapters, tracks and slideshows, finishing the DVD for burning. Some existing familiarity with Final Cut Pro would be helpful.
Subjects covered include:
- exporting a finished film from Final Cut Pro
- encode exports for DVD authoring
- learning about the DVD Studio Pro interface
- importing all assets for creating DVD
- using different aspect ratios
- creating menus and chapters
- burning to DVD.
Each participant will have their own Mac workstation to ensure maximum hands on practice. LCD projection facilities also aid the learning process and guarantee clear and effective demonstrations so participants will leave with a confident grasp of how to create DVDs on DVD Studio Pro. Video content will be provided by DFG.
Course Tutor: Murat Yusef
Murat Yusuf has a BA Hons in Television, Cinema and Radio Production and an MA specialising in Film Editing. As an Avid/FCP video editor Murat has worked for independent production companies as well as for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Discovery and UKTV - picking up an IVCA Silver Award along the way. Recent credits include the BAFTA award winning series Different Life for Channel 5.
