This is a sample agreement for the release of a selected music
track. Please note: you
must contact the
Mechanical-Copyright Protection
Society for clearance. They handle the collection of royalties
on behalf of copyright holders. Both publishing and recording
rights must be cleared, and there's often more than one copyright
owner. It's worth beginning the process of identifying the
copyright owners as early as you can.
This is the case even with library music, although the process is
much more straightforward and you will be guided through it by the
library staff.
If you're making a film for a broadcaster, check with them first as
they may have a blanket agreement in place that will cover your
particular programme.
