London Artists' Film and Video Awards (LAVFA) 2007 is now open for applications. Offering awards up to a maximum of £20,000 for the production of new work.
LAFVA is an open submission awards scheme for artists' living and working in the London region. Awards are available to artists' working in the context of contemporary fine art moving image practice.
Submitted projects can be any format, length and genre whether single or multi screen and produced for exhibition in galleries, festivals, specialist venues or cinemas.
LAFVA offers funds up to a maximum of £20,000. Awards can cover full production costs or costs to complete existing projects. As a guide, last year’s fund of £160,000 financed 12 projects. This financial year the budget for awards will be £160,000.
Now in its seventh year, LAFVA is one of the largest publicly funded award programmes for artists in the UK.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 23 November 2006.
A series of LAFVA roadshows will be taking place across London in early November. These events will provide information on the LAFVA fund and application process, general advice on funding opportunities for artist film-makers and tips on putting together applications. These events will also present an opportunity to view previous LAFVA funded work.
