Oscar Nominations Announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has today announced the nominations for this year's Academy Awards. The full list of documentaries nominated is below.

Among the films selected is Iraq in Fragments, James Longley's film about everyday life in Iraq, which is currently screening in the UK and has already picked up awards at last year's Sundance Festival. Also nominated is An Inconvenient Truth, the Al Gore film about climate change, which has already graced cinema screens in the UK.

Jesus Camp was screened at last October's Times BFI  London Film Festival but a UK release has yet to be confirmed as it has with Iraq film My Country, My Country, and  Deliver Us From Evil, about corruption and paedophilia in the Catholic church.

The Awards ceremony will take place next month in LA.
