Good Pitch and Short Pitch open for applications

This year BRITDOC is launching two entirely new pitching events for filmmakers: The Good Pitch and The Short Pitch.

The Good Pitch - for films and filmmakers working to effect social action and change. The Good Pitch offers a unique opportunity for up to 8 filmmaking teams to pitch issue-driven documentary projects to a panel of international funders and partners including foundations, NGOs, campaigners, advertising agencies and media. We are looking for projects at any stage from early production onwards, seeking to raise completion and/or outreach funding, or seeking to identify campaigning networks for their film. For full details and to apply: www.britdoc.org

The Short Pitch – for filmmakers working on innovative and exciting short documentaries. The Short Pitch will feature 7 selected filmmakers with short film projects currently in production as they pitch live to impress our expert panel of industry short film funders. The winning film project will be awarded a £10k grant (on a giant comedy cheque) from The British Documentary Film Foundation right there and then, on the spot. We are looking for short film projects that are under 15 minutes long, by British directors or directors who have been residing in Britain for at least 6 months. For full details and to apply: www.britdoc.org

The Good Pitch will close on Friday 6th June 2008, and the Short Pitch on Friday 13th June. Successful filmmakers will be informed by the end of June.
