Call for Entries - ViewFinders Youth Jury & Green Screen Challenge

ViewFinders, April 24-28, 2007, is a five-day celebration of film, video and media geared towards youth ages 3-18. The festival includes a comprehensive school program complete with a guide for educators, as well as evening and weekend screenings and events for families and young adults. ViewFinders features films from around the world and includes a selection of films made by youth.

ViewFinders is now accepting fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films of any length appropriate for a youth audience.

Please note: The Movie & Animation & Green Screen Challenges are a separate contest aimed at youth ages 3-18 with different guidelines and deadlines.

ViewFinders Youth Jury

ViewFinders Youth Jury is your chance to participate in jury duty and learn the ropes from the pros! The ViewFinders Youth Jury is responsible for selecting the best short, animation, feature, and documentary from films screened during the ViewFinders Festival and handing out awards at the Closing Gala. Selected jurors also receive an intensive crash course in film critique and appreciation from film curator for the Atlantic Film Festival and Dalhousie Art Gallery, Ron Foley Macdonald.

Green Screen Challenge

With the Green Screen Challenge we hope to stimulate dialogue and inspire youth-driven community eco-action th! roughout the Atlantic Provinces by offering students the oppor! tunity t o create short films and videos about environmental issues pertinent to their communities.

Submissions to the Green Screen Challenge will automatically qualify for the Movie & Animation Challenges, giving your entry double the opportunity to be screened and win prizes! The winning Green Screen Challenge submission will be entered into the Nordic Youth Film Festival Global Film Program at NUFF 2007 in Norway (www.nuff.no).

Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 30, 2007.
