Call for Entries - 2008 Pentedattilo Film Festival

The third edition of the Pentedattilo Film Festival co-organised by the Ram Digital Film and the association Pro Pentedattilo onlus is now officially open. The festival will be hosted in the xxx ancient village of Pentedattilo, in the Reggio Calabria district, between August-September 2008. More details and news will be provided later on, in June.

The deadline for entries is 5th June 2008.

Films must fall under one of the following categories:

Section 1 – Territory on the move
Best short film: 1.000,00 euros
Jury Special prize: 800,00 euros
Pentedattilo prize- 500,00 euros

Artistic awards to: best director, best photographer, best screen writing, best film editing, best actor, best actress, best original music.

Section 2 – Documentaries
As the year 2008 is the year of intercultural dialogue, the Pentedattilo Film Festival open a special section for recent documentaries films aiming at provoking reflection, improving knowledge and valorisation of diversity of the social plurality of globalisation.

Best documentaries film prize: 800,00 euros

Section 3 – Short Film Woman
The short films should be directed by women or should be about women's issues.

Best short film woman prize: 1.000,00 euros

Section 4 – Under 27
This section is reserved for young directors or those directing his or her first short film (in this case with no age limitation).

Best short film under 27 prize: 500,00 euros

Additional prizes
Amongst all short films submitted the jury and the art director of the festival will award one short film with the Calabria prize.

The short film should have one of the following requisites:
• Calabrian director
• Calabrian screen writer
• Calabrian location

Best short film Calabria prize: 500,00 euros
