North West-based moves is the largest exhibition platform in the UK for screen-based work exploring ‘choreographed movement’ in the form of dance films, interactive installations, animation, videogames and experimental shorts at international level.

moves08 will showcase a three-day conference on the interaction of movement and sound in screen-based work, twelve international screenings including a North West showcase, a five-day filmmaking lab, a four-day filmmaking masterclass in Salford, Manchester and Lancaster, live events and installation(s). Through its ‘Discovery’ strand, moves08 will, for the first time, give a special place to students and emerging artists.

moves is now accepting submissions for features, shorts and documentaries with a special focus on movement made in 2006, 2007 and 2008 only.

The festival takes place from 22nd - 28th April 2008 and the submission deadline is 1st February 2008.
