British Independent Film Awards - Winners Announced

The winners for the tenth annual British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) were announced at a ceremony yesterday at the Roundhouse in London. The awards, designed to celebrate the wealth and diversity of talent in the UK film industry, honour in a wide range of categories.

This year's documentary winners were the producers of Black Gold, which won the Best Achievement in Production, and Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten, which beat Grierson awardee Deep Water, as well as Garbage Warrior, In the Shadow of the Moon and Black Gold to win the award for Best Documentary.
