BBC Blast Calls for Films from Young Filmmakers

BBC Blast is running a season of programmes showcasing films made by young filmmakers, and is open to new talent around the UK. Successful submissions will be aired in December in a series of programmes that will include feedback and advice from industry experts.

The guidelines state that:
  • Filmmakers should be under the age of 25
  • Films can be of any genre (including docs) but this year there will be special features on dance, animation and horror. 
  • It should be submitted in mini DV, DVD or high 8 form.
  • Preferably it should be no longer than ten minutes
  • Ideally it should not include any copyrighted music – if commercial music is used all details of publisher, composer and copyright should be sent in with the submission.
The deadline for applications is 31st October 2006
