ZagrebDox International Festival of Documentary Films

A week-long event, the festival was established in 2005 and is organised by Factum - one of the most important documentary producers in the region and certainly the most influential in Croatia.

ZagrebDox is the biggest and most important documentary festival in the region showing some 120 films from more than 30 countries every year. General program orientation is screening of creative documentaries, which are imaginative in form and profound in treating their subjects.  In addition to the main competitive programs (International and regional) the festival is screening a number of special programs, including retrospectives.

The festival program consists of competition programs and special programs:
  • Regional Competition Program (films from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro and Slovenia)
  • International Competition Program (films from all other countries of the world)
  • The retrospective and special programs
Documentary films of all lengths, topics and production technologies can be submitted. The film formats accepted by ZagrebDox are: 35mm, 16mm, Digital Beta (Pal), Beta SP (Pal) and HDV, DV.

Submission of films is free of charge. All the submitted films must have English subtitles or a printed dialogue list.
