Urban Film Series

Urban Film Series run a series of programmes aimed to enhance awareness and provide exposure to the arts, independent cinema, and the media for underserved communities across America.

The programmes include festivals, screenings and workshops.

The Series' aims include: recognising key issues affecting communities, families, and individuals; connecting independent filmmakers to communities and the industry and providing awareness, education and opportunities.

Each year these programmes begin with the Black History Month Film and Discussion Series.  The series also includes a Black Docs programme, and an Urban Film series.

Submission Guidelines

Submission entries for any of the categories including Black History Month, Black Docs, Urban Film Series and Health and Wellness Film, must be on DVD.  This year, the series is particularly encouraging submissions of documentaries, features and shorts.

A $20 processing fee is needed for every entry, $35 for multiple entries.  A $10 late fee will be charged for late submissions.

The deadline for the Black Docs category was 25th February 2008.  But, other categories are running throughout the year.
