Uppsala International Short Film Festival

Uppsala

23rd - 29th October 2006

Founded in 1982, the Uppsala International Short Film Festival has since become Sweden's premier arena for short film, having attained both national and international recognition. Every year the festival shows more than 200 short films in five different sections exploring the diversity and richness of the short film - from new film to retrospective programmes, from fiction film, documentaries and experimental film to animations.

Taking place in the university town of Uppsala at four cinemas located in the city's cinema district, the Uppsala International Short Film Festival is a meeting place for audiences, industry and media. The many Swedish and international filmmakers and other professionals that every year attend are offered an extensive programme of activities that give an insight into Swedish film, culture and history. Buyers, distributors and festival representatives have access to a videotheque during the festival. The festival offers filmmakers many opportunities to meet their audience, and discussions are held both at the screenings and at special director's talks.

Short films under 60 minutes will be considered for entry. Films must have been made no more than two years before the deadline for entries (this year - films made after 30th June 2004). There is no entry fee.

Eligible screening formats are 35mm, 16 mm, Beta SP, DV, Mini DV, DVcam.

Entry details and application form available at www.shortfilmfestival.com and the deadline for entries is 30th June 2006.
