The Fourth Annual Streatham Film Festival is to be held on July 7th
2006 in the 14th century church of St Leonard's on Streatham High
Street. The festival includes intriguing exhibits of props and
memorabilia from cinema's strangest hits and
weird and wonderous entertainment, set the scene for an
increasingly popular showcase for the best new work of south
London's video and film producers.
In the festival cinema, visitors can enjoy an impressive and
dramatic collection of new film shorts, enter Brixton Prison to
view uncensored and fascinating documentaries produced entirely by
prisoners, travel up the Eiffel Tower for a sneak preview of a
murderous new drama, and discover tomorrow's top TV and film
talent, today.
At the festival bar, there are opportunities to meet like minded
cinephiles, exchange ideas and phone numbers, as well as make
useful and possibly life-changing contacts.
There will be displays of signed poster art, rare movie stills,
and movie memorabilia from cult and noir cinema - plus a chance to
sample the unique 2006 Streatham Film Festival punch, created
specially for the event.
The Streatham Film Festival is a hugely valuable resource to
anyone already working in digital media, anyone who plans to enter
the industry, and anyone who just loves movies and the visual
arts.
The Community Zone is currently accepting submissions for the 4th
Streatham Film Festival.
An intimate evening event, where filmmakers can communicate with
their audience and each other. This eclectic film festival seeks
innovative films that are insightful and represent a variety of
issues, perspectives, cultures and ideas. Both established and
emerging film makers are welcome.
Submissions are accepted in the following categories:
- Documentaries
- Short Films
- Animation
- Film by teens
DV masters are preferred (must have continuous time code) Video and
DVDs will be accepted
