San Francisco Ocean Film Festival

February 1st - 3rd 2008

San Francisco

The San Francisco Ocean Film Festival celebrates the sea with inspirational films that increase our appreciation of the oceans that surround us. Based in the Presidio’s Thoreau Center for Sustainability, the festival is a non-profit organization run by ocean-minded volunteers who are dedicated to providing the public with the opportunity to discover and more completely comprehend the beauty and importance of our oceans through the unifying power of film.

Beginning as the first festival of its kind in North America and the second in the world, the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival has become the premier venue for international filmmakers to screen their works to a growing North American audience.  In 2008 the festival is celebrating this success with a 5th Anniversary Opening Reception that will pay tribute to the best films from past festivals.
