Montreal
24th August - 4th
September 2006
As the name suggests, this is a celebration of film from all over
the world. A competitive festival offering prizes in several
categories - including audience awards - it has a focus on docs in
the 'Documentaries of the World' section, and also a section for
first features; the 'First Films World Competition.'
It also hosts the Montreal International Film Market, further
details of which should be available either here or on the festival
website later this year.
For the documentary section, the following conditions apply:
feature length or medium length films are accepted, on 35mm, 70mm,
DVD or video. They must have been produced during the 12 months
preceding the Festival and have not:
been presented on television in North America;
on the Internet;
released commercially in Canada nor participated in any
cinematographic event in Canada.
Films in a language other than French must be subtitled in French
or in English.
