Les Escales documentaires

Les Escales documentaires was created eight years ago and is one of the major French festivals of documentaries.
The festival not only showcases outstanding and international documentaries which will take part in the competition, it also holds a non competitive selection of original movies, professional meetings and debates.
Categories include:
- An international competition which presents 10/15 international films
- A prize for documentaries for children and youth
- A Doc Out selection: non competitive, composed of innovative films at the junction of artistic creation and concern for reality.
The audience will also be able to vote and award “Le Prix du public”.
Submission Guidelines
Documentaries from all over the world may join the competition, whatever the theme and the length are. Films produced from the 1st January 2007 are eligible. At the end of it, ten to fifteen rare and outstanding films will compete for the Prize of les Escales documentaries.
Documentaries aimed at a young public or likely to interest children or youngsters might be eligible to compete for the Prize of documentary for the children and youth.
Deadline: usually around the 30th of June
