Kiev International Film Festival Molodist

Molodist means youth in Ukrainian and the Kiev festival is dedicated to film debuts and student films. Now in its 36th year the festival aims to
  • analyze the main trends and tendencies in the work of young filmmakers around the world 
  • establish and broaden creative contacts between young filmmakers and between film schools 
  • recognize new personalities in modern film art 
  • integrate Ukrainian film into the global cinema industry
The annual festival competition consists of three categories: 
  • student films (less than 45 mins) 
  • first professional short (fiction, animation, documentary) (less than 45 mins) 
  • first professional full-length fiction (60 mins +)

All films produced after 1st January 2005 at professional studios or film schools made on 16 or 35 mm film are eligible for competition.
