This year's International Student Film Festival, entitled SCREEN06
takes place at the University of Winchester Stripe Auditorium on
2nd and 3rd June 2006.
Patrons include Jeremy Isaacs, founding Executive of Channel Four,
Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and producer
of successful documentaries including the "World at War" series.
Documentary veteran Michael Grigsby will be showing his latest
film.
International schools from Russia and France will be
participating. The director of the EICAR Film School in Paris
and tutors from the St Petersburg University of Film and TV will be
among the guests.
The festival will be open to schools and colleges across Hampshire
as well as national universities and colleges. The international
net has also been cast wider to include work from student
filmmakers in Asia, Africa and America.
There will be two main screens for those films that are accepted
for exhibition. However, all films submitted will be available for
viewing in the festival 'videotheque'. The deadline for submission
of student work is May 1st, 2006.
Festival Director is John Pett, and the Film Jury will include
professional filmmakers such as lighting cameraman Mike Fox,
producer Sarah Hardy and scriptwriter Chris Wickins.
Categories accepted are Documentary, Drama and Experimental. There
is also a Best Film and a Best Director category.
