France's biggest
documentary film festival. Showcasing the very best in documentary
films from around the world, the festival in Marseille is one of
the biggest European events on the documentary filmmaking calendar.
Featured films are often followed by informative Q & A sessions
with the director allowing industry professionals and the general
public a rare opportunity to gain a greater insight into the films.
Visitors can also enjoy a little pomp and ceremony as filmmakers
sweat it out to see who will be awarded one of the eight
prestigious prizes as voted by a panel of industry experts.
In 2006 the festival celebrates its 17th year with three
retrospectives of filmmakers: Helmut Bitomsky, Joaquin Jorda &
Robert Morin. As well as 20 films in the International Competition,
10 films in the French Competition and 7 Parallel screenings.
