What should I take with me? Having been selected, sent your master tape, and bought your plane, train or bus ticket, it's time to go to your festival. But wait!!! You need to make sure you are prepared. It's helpful to consider taking the following with you:

(1)    Business Cards. No matter how much you might hate them, they are an invaluable way to quickly give someone your details. Get some printed, and take a good supply with you.
(2)    Posters and Flyers. Festivals often allow you to put up posters of your film, so take a couple of large quad size posters with you. Also print flyers of your film (remember to put contact details on!) and distribute them around.
(3)    VHS/DVD copies of your film. Take a good supply with you, so that you can give them out to people.

What can I expect when I'm there? Festivals often put themselves out to make you welcome, and it's expected, at the very least, that you attend every screening of your film, to introduce it, and to stay around afterwards for a Q & A. Then, having traumatized yourself discussing your film to an audience of 300 people, you can go for that long-earned drink in the delegates' bar! Back to top
