End of the Pier International Film Festival
25th April - 3rd May 2008
Bognor Regis
This annual event is held in the seaside resort of Bognor Regis and aims to gain exposure for rising talent, new and young independent film makers.
Submissions are open in four categories:
General Submissions
Open to film makers from any part of the world, of any age or experience, who have a sub-feature length film, of any genre.
Feature Length Submissions
For films of any genre of over 60 minutes in length. Films not nominated may be screened on small screens in café style venues during the festival period. For 2008 the festival would prefer films that have NOT previously been screened in a theatrical venue in the UK, and also films that have NOT been screened on the internet, although clips and trailers are acceptable.
UK Universities
This is for any film of any length, or genre, produced by a University. Either as course work by an individual, or group of students, or as part of any extra curricular activity offered by a University. These films must be sent in by Course Tutors, or a representative of the institution, and not directly by students. The fee for this is a one-off £25, for all the films submitted by that institution. Students wishing to send in their own films, as an individual, can complete the general submissions form and enclose their concessionary fee of £15. If in doubt please contact the eotp office info@eotpfilmfestival.com before submitting. Films sent in by Universities will be judged against work submitted by other Universities and not against the general categories.
Schools and Colleges
This section is for any Primary, Secondary, Further Education Institute (Colleges), Sixth Form Colleges, or Youth Groups, situated in the South East of England only. As with Universities, it is for any film of any length or genre produced by a School, or Group, either as course work, by an individual, or group of students, or as part of any extra curricular activity offered by a School or Youth Group. These films must be sent in by Course Tutors/Group Leaders/Workshop Leaders, or a representative of the institution/group, and not directly by students/participants. The fee for this is a one-off £25 for all the films submitted by that institution/group.
Students/participants wishing to send in their own films, as an individual, can complete the general submissions form and enclose their concessionary fee of £15. If in doubt please contact the eotp office info@eotpfilmfestival.com. Before submitting. Films sent in by any of the above groups will be judged against work submitted by other similar groups and not against Universities or the general categories. The screening of this festival section will take place later in the year on June the 14th. This is to allow more time for course leaders to complete work. (See the Education Section of the site for more details)
This is the first year that the festival has opened the event up to educational institutes outside of West Sussex.
South East of England means: Kent, Sussex East and West, Surrey, Hampshire, I.O.W, Middlesex, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and Greater London.
Any School from outside of these counties can submit using the general submissions form. These films will be judged against others in this category.
