The Athens ECOCINEMA International Film Festival, is a multicultural audiovisual event hosting documentaries, shorts and features with mainly social and ecological themes, encouraging conservation issues and issues related with the natural, the human and the built environment. Scientific, political and militant features are strongly encouraged. Prizes are awarded by an international jury, for their innovative approach, for their daring thematic and their overall artistic qualities.

The Festival aims to increase public awareness on the above issues, contribute to regional and international cooperation and stimulate filmmakers' and audiovisual professionals' interest in these fields.
