Lodz

An international festival of the Art of Cinematography. It is the largest Film Festival in Poland and the only Festival in the world completely devoted to the visual side of motion picture, to the language of film image. Thanks to the independent character of the Festival Camerimage has become a highly recognised and important meeting place. Every year we celebrate the world–greatest visual culture, which brings meaningful and significant aspects to the contemporary arts.

Plus Camerimage Film Festival has existed since 1993 and is the biggest international film event in Poland. It is solely devoted to cinematographers and the visual part of film. It is held annually in Lodz, Poland.

Special Awards

Each year the festival grants the Lifetime Achievement Award to the outstanding cinematographer and within the 15 years of the Festival this annual award went to: Sven Nykvist, Freddie Francis, Billy Fraker, Vilmos Zsigmond, Vittorio Storaro, Giuseppe Rotunno, Laszlo Kovacs, Billy Williams, Owen Roizman, Witold Sobocinski, Haskell Wexler, Conrad Hall, David Watkin, Tonino Delli Colli, Robby Muller, Stephen Goldblatt and this year the Award will be granted to Pierre Lhomme.

Following the growing interest in the documentary cinema and the success of previous editions, the festival has decided to introduce documentaries into its scope of films.
 
Documentary Films Competition “Image of the World – World in Images”

The competition is organized in collaboration with Discovery Networks Europe and aims to recognize documentary film as a creative interpretation of reality. Putting an emphasis on the visual and aesthetic aspects of the work, the organizers evaluate the best achievements in the field of cinematography, awarding the authors of photography of the competitive documentary films.

Submission Guidelines

Only short and medium length documentary films between 20 and 60 minutes, constituting a self-contained whole, produced after the 1st of January 2006, can be submitted to the selection. However, shorter or longer films may be accepted for non-competitive special screenings. Deadline: 5th of October 2008. Please refer to the festival website for details.
