Synopsis:

Deported follows the journeys of individual asylum seekers rejected by countries they have struggled to reach. Escaping civil war, ethnic or religious hatred and political persecution, asylum seekers are forced to travel thousands of miles, sometimes for many months, before they reach a country of safety. But on arrival, they find themselves threatened with expulsion to the very countries from which they have risked everything to escape.

Focusing on stories of deportation from three countries, Deported compares the attitudes and policies of each and show what happens to refugees when their asylum applications are rejected for the last time.
