Synopsis:
Fighting to eradicate corruption from their country's patriarchal
legal system, Sisters in Law follows the women endeavouring to make
an impact in the courtroom. With the number of reported cases of
assault, domestic violence and statutory rape on the rise, this
film explores the changing role of women in Cameroon's legal
system. Beatrice is a judge in the Court of First Instance in Kumba
where she is often confronted with cases highlighting the need for
more female legal representation. Juliana is a Court Registrar
struggling to become a judge in the local Customary Court.
