Synopsis:

In January 1979, 16 year-old Brenda Ann Spencer took a rifle that her father had bought her for Christmas and opened fire on the school across the road from her house in a quiet suburb of San Diego, California. She killed the headmaster and the janitor, and injured eight children and a police officer. Her response when asked why she carried out this massacre was: "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day."

This film picks the story up over twenty years down the line and seeks an insight into what made Brenda commit this crime. She has been denied parole, and has made allegations of sexual abuse against her father. The film speaks to members of the Spencer family, including Brenda's father, who has never before spoken publicly and who denies the accusations against him.
