Dying for Drugs looks at the ethics of drug testing and the rush to get the drugs to market. It demonstrates the increasingly dominant practice of large drug companies to test new drugs on children in developing countries without their parents' knowledge or consent and reveals how the world's largest drug company has failed to produce a single release form from more than 200 children tested.

The film also looks at the cases of ineffective or even possibly dangerous drugs cleared for use, and at the lopsided pricing practices that leaves some people unable to pay for the treatment they need to stay alive.
