Synopsis:

A film that began life as a behind the scenes look at the production of a musical, but descends into chaos as the film's budget is slashed, a performer is injured by a piece of kit and the crew's lights blow a fuse in the rehearsal room.

So Broomfield steps in front of the camera to make a film about the filming of a behind-the-scenes look at the production of a musical, in the first example of what has come to be viewed as his trademark style. We see his attempts to track down the money people, filming telephone conversations, meetings and arguments in an attempt to salvage his documentary. The result is a comically exasperated look at the darker side of showbiz.
