Synopsis:
During the 1980’s and early 90’s Derek Jarman was one of Britain’s most innovative and controversial independent filmmakers. Also a hugely talented painter, writer and gardener, he was a lover of high art, Super 8 and an outspoken activist for his sexuality. Jarman only made the films he wanted to make - ones that gave voice to his vision of the world as a gay man. He died in 1994.
His rich and colourful life is explored through the recollections and perspectives of friends, family and colleagues, including Tilda Swinton, Christopher Hobbs, James Mackay, Simon Fisher Turner, Nigel Terry, Tariq Ali, Peter Tatchell and Jill Balcon.
