Synopsis:

His wife calls him obsessive. The New Mexico legislature thinks he’s loopy. But one thing for sure about Mike Reynolds: he’s a visionary. For thirty-five years he and his followers have been working to build sustainable homes – houses that aren’t dependent on power supplies, electricity or running water, which won’t contribute to the destruction of the planet. He’s a passionate believer in trial and error -- that mistakes must be permitted before progress can take place. Unfortunately, the powers that be in New Mexico believe that there is no reason to change the status quo, and shut Reynolds down in a morass of bureaucracy and legislative red-tape. But then Mother Nature steps in, and the victims of the tsunami and Hurricane Katrina prove there is a desperate need for Reynolds’ vision. Shot over three years and in four countries, Garbage Warrior is a timely portrait of a determined hero.
