Synopsis:

After 30 years in the music business, Paul Weller has become an icon. This year he was on top form with a lifetime achievement award and his face on the cover of every music magazine. Traditionally media shy, Weller opens up completely to director Stuart Watts in this creative documentary. Weller himself takes us through his eventful life and a career where he has been a major influence on two generations of musicians. With an innovative use of archive and his own music as the soundtrack, Weller tells the story of his upbringing in Woking, years in the Jam and Style Council, his relationship with his father-manager, his record company dropping him, his mid-life crisis and his resurgence in the last decade. With the current revival in guitar music, bands such as Hard-Fi, the Artic Monkeys, the Ordinary Boys and Razorlight are once again finding Weller a key influence. Interviews with WellerÕs parents and ex-wife, as well as musicians such as Boy George and Noel Gallagher round out this remarkable portrait of a musical legend.
