Synopsis:

This 9-part verité series for BBC1 went behind the scenes at Thames Valley Police with unprecedented access. Showing life at Reading police station, warts and all, the series covered a range of incidents from dramatic stand-offs to scenes from the lives of police officers.

The episode 'A Complaint of Rape' sparked a massive outcry, showing a group of male detectives bully and intimidate a woman who has come to the station to report a rape. She eventually drops her accusation. Legislation was changed soon after, to provide support to women reporting rape, and this particular episode has often been credited as being instrumental to this.
