Synopsis:

This documentary explores English identity. Should England have its own national anthem and should that song be William Blake's Jerusalem? Women's Institute members, public school boys, nudists & Labour & Conservative party members give their views. Colm Martin's film shows the power of the song that can unite individuals and institutions as disparate as Garry Bushell and Billy Bragg, the Women's Institute and the BNP.
