Synopsis:
Based on archival footage and interviews, this film reconstructs
the history of those who worked as slave labour under the Third
Reich. More than ten million people, apart from the prisoners in
the concentration camps, were forced to work in Germany during
World War II. Most of them died of hunger and exhaustion; many were
brutally killed when the Germans no longer needed them. Today, some
one and a half million of these former forced labourers are still
alive, a number of them having tried to get some sort of
compensation for more than fifty years.
