24 one-minute films, each shot by a different director and each
corresponding to an hour in the day; 24 glimpses of London's many
lifestyles. A class of five-year-olds, Russian stripper twins, a
cycle courier, an elderly insomniac, a funeral director, a homeless
man and film star Kathleen Turner all reveal a different side to
life in the Capital.
Shot using a variety of formats, including 35mm film, digital
video, photo stills and super 8, the films were directed by film
students, commercial directors, dubbing mixers and
researchers.
24 Hours was the first programme to be commissioned in Channel 4's
highly revered Alt-TV strand, showcasing new talent making
innovative films.
