Synopsis:
Courtesy of Spanner Films
In 1995, one of the largest corporations in the world decided to
sue Helen and Dave, two environmental campaigners from middle
England, for libel. The trial that followed - with a gardener and a
postman representing themselves against McDonald's top legal team -
became the longest in British legal history. The film, funded
entirely independently, and distributed over the internet, in
schools, universities and community groups, was filmed over ten
years. It follows Helen and Dave through their mammoth struggle and
right up to the verdict of the European Court of Human
Rights.
