Synopsis:

A four-part series focusing in turn on acts of terror committed in the name of national liberation, social revolution, God, and the state. Exploring terrorism around the world, including French Algeria, apartheid South Africa, British Palestine and Northern Ireland, it includes interviews with military officers and terrorist commanders, bombers and kidnappers, and examines the motives and historical contexts behind such acts. The interviews are intercut with archive footage and photos, and combine to construct a view of the key terrorist campaigns which changed the course of modern history.
