Synopsis:

24 Square Miles is a survey of the area centred around the market town of Banbury, in 1940's Oxfordshire. Narrated by John Arlott and based on the findings of a 1943 study conducted by the Agricultural Economic Research Institute at Oxford, it analyses the assets and needs of the area and how it is likely to develop in the future. Included as well is 'Harting', a picturesque village on the Sussex Downs, in which various members of the community appear in the course of their daily work.
