Marc Francis and his brother Nick are independent documentary filmmakers.
They began their career making short documentaries concerning social, global and human rights stories before developing feature-length productions for international audiences.
Their work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation and the Screen South/UK Film Council. Their latest production, Black Gold, about the world of coffee and trade, premiered at Sundance and is now being screened at film festivals across the world.

Nick Francis is an independent documentary filmmaker, working with his brother Mark.

Fraser has been commissioning editor of BBC’s Storyville since it started in 1997. In recent years, films shown on Storyville have won many major awards, including an Oscar, a Grand Jury prize at Sundance, several Griersons and several Emmys.
He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford in 1969 with a first class degree in English. He has worked as a reporter and television producer and editor. Books published by him include a biography of Eva Peron, and The Voice of Hatred. Short Books published his book The Importance of Being Elton in 2006. He is proud of being a contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine in New York, in which his essays about the BBC, Isaiah Berlin and anti-Americanism have been published.
