Gordon studied literature at Cambridge. His films, from Children of Chernobyl to The Betrayed have won numerous awards including the Prix Italia, Prix Europa, Royal Television Society Best Documentary, and three British Academy Awards. His latest film, Cargo, is a feature film written by Ken Loach collaborator Paul Laverty.
